The Water Race

Tackling the water crisis through entrepreneurial action

Overview

The Challenge

Access to water and sanitation is still out of reach for much of the world.

Water scarcity affects more than 40 percent of the global population and is projected to rise

Every minute a child dies of a preventable water-related disease

Women and children spend 140 million hours a day collecting water

Some 2.4 billion people lack access to basic sanitation services, such as toilets or latrines

And yet, for every $1 spent on water and sanitation there is a $4 economic return

The Opportunity

At Enactus, we believe investing in students who take entrepreneurial action for others creates a better world for us all. The Water Race recognizes and mobilizes Enactus teams and their projects that tackle the water and sanitation crisis.

Together, we can make measurable progress towards addressing Global Goal 6.

 clean water and sanitation

The Reward

Enactus teams around the world will be recognized and rewarded for taking action to generate sustainable, positive impact on water and/or sanitation.
