1 Race to End Waste

Tackling the food waste crisis through entrepreneurial action

Overview

The Challenge

We are facing a food waste crisis.

Every year around the world, we lose or waste 1/3 of the food we produce

That's 1.3 billion tons of food each year, equaling $750 billion dollars

Over one quarter of the world's land grows crops that go to waste

The water used to grow these wasted crops could cover all of the world's household water needs

And yet, nearly 800 million people do not have enough food to lead a healthy, active life

The Opportunity

At Enactus, we believe investing in students who take entrepreneurial action for others creates a better world for us all. 1 Race 2 End Waste recognizes and mobilizes Enactus teams and their projects that tackle the food waste/loss crisis.

Together, we can make measurable progress towards addressing Global Goal 12.

 Responsible Consuption and Production

The Reward

Enactus teams around the world will be recognized and rewarded for taking action to generate sustainable, positive impact on food waste/loss.
